Billing
How the allowance works.
Only answers are charged
If a screening cannot be answered even after all retries, the query is credited back to your allowance. A clean negative, by contrast, is an answer — "nothing found" is the information you are paying for, and usually the one you need.
A cached result is an answer too
If the same research is requested again within the cache period, the result comes back immediately — and counts as a query. You are receiving a result, after all.
A second output language is a second query
The same name in English and in German are two separate results, held separately in the cache. Each report is written from the source articles in the language you asked for rather than translated afterwards, so the second one is genuine work — and costs a second query. Pick the language your file is kept in; you rarely need both.
Allowances do not expire immediately
Unused queries remain valid beyond the current billing period, within the range of currently honoured issuance periods. A quiet month is therefore not a lost month.
No per-seat licence
Price follows volume, not headcount. Who in your organisation gets access is your decision and costs nothing extra.
Common questions about billing
What exactly counts as one query?
A complete screening of one name: all search lanes, the archive match, the sanctions check and the analysis of every article assessed. Not per article, not per search lane, not per source.
What happens if we exhaust the allowance?
Drawing further queries for the current period is refused until you top up or the next period begins. There is no silent overage billing.
Is search quality reduced on the smaller tiers?
No. Alias expansion, the international lane, the archive and sanctions matching are the same everywhere. The tiers differ only on volume, deployment model and support.
Can we run a trial first?
Yes, and we actively recommend doing it with cases from your own history whose outcome you already know. Scope and terms are settled in conversation.
How does onboarding work?
On signing you receive a one-time enrolment code and redeem it for a client certificate. The corresponding private key never leaves your systems. After that you draw your allowance, and the integration consists of one HTTP header.
Do we get an invoice itemising the names screened?
No — and that is by design. Billing rests on the number of queries drawn, not on their content. We cannot list which names you screened, because we do not know. If you need that breakdown for internal cost allocation, you keep it on your side.
